New Moon?

Firstly, I want to say how amazed I am at myself (for once) at my own work. I just glanced at a couple of my old sketches and compared them to my most recent one (unposted) and impressed myself. "Holy shit! Did I do that!?" I'm convinced someone else drew some of that stuff and posted it in my name...that HAS to be it. Or I'm just reaaaallly out of practice.

Moving on...
So, I don't know if I'm the ONLY person in the world not that into the Twilight crap, but it certainly feels like it. I'll start out by saying that I started reading the series after I heard all this crazy support for it. If Harry Potter turned out to be good, maybe this would too. It had an interesting concept at least. I was highly disappointed. I really find the writing medicre. I know it's aimed towards a younger audience, but hell, so was Harry Potter. I mean, as I was reading the first two books I found MULTIPLE typing/spelling errors. That crap gets under my skin because it such an easy thing to get right. The New Moon novel made me angry all the way through. The repetition of emotions and phrases got on my nerves greatly. Ok, we get it. There's a hole in her chest. It sucks. It hurts. Mooooving on...

Now the movie, I'll say that I mainly went for the wolfies (and the sexy Native American men...who wouldn't?) and I wasn't disappointed there! I was quite impressed with the anatomy overall, the proportion was well done, as well as the emotion in their body language. I was even more impressed during the fight scene when it was realistic like two wolves were ACTUALLY going at it. The excitement ends there. The acting was hard to deal with (although the immaturity of the teenagers sitting next to me drove me crazy) because a lot of it was cheesy. There were many slow parts and it was hard for me to get into it and believe all the emotions that were trying to be expressed. I felt like they tried too hard. I found it irritating when people giggled stupidly and laughed at some of the lines because they were cheesy, yet they were almost WORD FOR WORD the lines from the book that they were obessed about. What, it's less cheesy when it's written than when it's said. Not to me. I realize why it got low ratings.

I hear that that last book (I think) has more wolf parts and it dwelves deeper into the wolves, how they interact, and how they communicate/think. My boyfriend says I'll like it, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

PLEASE...someone reassure me that I'm not the ONLY person in the world to think this way!!
